Kansas State Representative, District 19
John Skubal, 61, is a lifelong area resident. He has
lived in Overland Park since 1978, residing in the 19th District since 1992. John is a graduate of Emporia State University
and is currently employed as the Marketing/Business
Development Officer for Kaw Valley Engineering.
John taught in the KCK public school system for 2 years
and was the director of Campus Services at Johnson County
Community College for 24 years. While at JCCC he oversaw
the construction of over one million square feet of
educational space. Additionally, he managed the infrastructure
of the existing facilities and grounds on the 235 acre
campus. He served as president of the Central Association
of Physical Plant Administrators (CAPPA) and as a representative
to the international Association of Physical Plant Administrators
(APPA). John retired from the college in 2002 to begin
his current position.
